Broncos to hire Gary Kubiak in the offseason? Seriously?
A blog on the Denver Post this morning suggested that current Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak might be on the radar for the Denver Broncos at the conclusion of this season. There is speculation that Kubiak could lose his job in Houston and, frankly, he should. But why should he immediately be linked to the Denver Broncos? Because he backed up John Elway? Because he worked under Mike Shanahan? Seriously.
Do Denver broncos fans simply want to hire another under achieving head coach simply because he has an association with the Broncos? Kubiak has been a failure as a head coach during his time with the Texans in my estimation.
Kubiak has run the show in Houston this season with a prolific passer. He has the best running back in the league in 2010 and he has arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL in Andre Johnson. Yet, the Texans are 5-9 after starting the season 4-2. Kubiak only has one season with the Texans when they logged a winning season, last year, and why exactly should his name be mentioned with any coaching opening with the Denver Broncos? Past participation?
The Broncos have serious issues on each side of the ball, the organization has to look at making a serious step forward in the coaching ranks. I know several Texans fans, and they’d love to dump Kubiak, but he is not the right fit for the Broncos, or frankly, any other team.
