2011 NFL Draft: Could the Denver Broncos End Up Selecting a Quarterback at No. 2?
One of the hottest position battles in training camp–that is if a CBA is reached in time–this offseason for the Denver Broncos will be at quarterback between Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow. However, this doesn’t mean the Broncos won’t consider selecting a quarterback with the No. 2 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
Mike Klis of The Denver Post recently discussed how intrigued Broncos Executive Vice President of Football Operations is by the talent at quarterback in this year’s draft class. Auburn’s Cam Newton and Missouri’s Blaine Gabbert have both been considered for the top pick in this year’s draft–which could make it difficult for Denver to pass on one of these guys at No. 2.
Sure, Orton was near the top of the league in passing yards at times in 2010 and Tebow showed a ton of potential the final three games of last season–but that doesn’t mean either of these guys are the answer for the Broncos. If Newton or Gabbert ends up being as talented as some of the scouts make them up to be–Elway and the Broncos may have no choice but to at least consider drafting them.

Doubt it Dan. If Luck was in the draft, then yes, because he and Elway are both Stanford grads, and they mirror each other from college achievements.
